Friends-giving y'all!

So this past Saturday we had our 2nd annual friendsgiving at our home and it was another success!
I'm so grateful for good friends and this is such a fun way to get together and visit with most of them.
Thanks to everyone who could make it and brought sides...they were delish!

I'm afraid our house is getting too small to invite any more people than we had but hopefully we can keep this tradition going!
Here are a few pictures from my phone of the prep and the rest of the night.

My favorite part of the turkey prep...injecting it with 8' needle of butter marinade...
no wonder I'm going into medicine haha

My made from scratch, grandmas recipe, stuffing... turned out so good!

I bought orange taffy and turkey stickers for the kids to keep them entertained...well no kids ended up coming but everyone else seemed to like them ha!

 Some of the peeps

 double selfie!!

We are staying in Idaho this year for Thanksgiving because we have to work the day before and after. My parents were able to come up yesterday for the day to have a pre-thanksgiving dinner with us and to bring us my grandmas freezer that doesn't get used. Hooray!!! It's only like 5 years old and works great.
I'm so excited to have a freezer again haha.

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. Love you all!

Anniversary 11.11.13

So we celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on 11.11.13
Two years with this handsome guy has been a dream come true...not to get all mushy or anything but
I can't believe how lucky I am sometimes.
So glad he picked me!

To celebrate we went and spent the night in a suite at marriot in idaho falls.
It was such a nice room!
We plan on doing our cheesy 2 year picture in front of the temple in a few weeks hopefully.

We were going to go out to dinner but our freezer decided to stop working suddenly a few days before. awesome huh
Well we had a massive turkey that had completely dethawed..so I had to cook it.
We had a nice home cooked meal and froze the rest of the turkey meat.

I got Jake a little gift and the day of our anniversary
he came home with the most perfect card and yellow rose:)
My in-laws also got us a cute little card and a gift card to texas roadhouse. yum:)

This was the exact spot my sweet husband proposed over two years ago.

It was a wonderful weekend to say the least.
I am so grateful for my sweet, handsome and caring husband.
Can't wait to spend eternity with him. Love you!!

i couldnt decide to make a cake, get flowers, make cookies or what.
i was pretty proud of my yummy creation...

Elder King is doing great!
He has struggled getting along with one of his companions but hey that happens!
No pictures this post of him because his camera cord broke but stay tuned:)

Fall time

Well this is going to be short and sweet...
I know I've neglected my blog lately but school will tend to do that to you and ruin your social life!

I had to leave Mobley's PT when the semester started because of my class schedule:( I miss working there and all of my friends so much!

It is almost Halloween time and I just love this time of the year!
I'm slightly obsessed with Hocus Pocus and I may or may not have already watched it several times.... don't judge me.

Jake and are dressing up for the first time as a couple this year for a friends Halloween party.
Stay tuned for our pics. Its going to be hilarious!

Last weekend I carved pumpkins with my good friend J'lene and her four little girls.
We had so much fun and I just love those girls!

As many of you know from my millions of posts that my cousin Austin is serving a mission for the LDS church in Las Vegas Nevada and he is doing great!
I made it a goal to write him every week and I've kept to that goal. His parents haven't wrote him yet and I think its important for him to know how much he is loved and how proud I am of him.
He is so spiritual and funny in his letters! My mom and I bought him a camera and I've loved getting pictures from him. Here are a few he sent to me and this first one is his first Baptism of many!

What a stud that Elder is huh!?

Anyways we are doing wonderful and happy as can be! We are making some big changes in life and overcoming trials the best way we know how... which is prayer.
I have a testimony that prayer can change lives and I'm so thankful I have the opportunity to have a relationship with my Heavenly Father and the Savior.
We are so so grateful for our wonderful friends and family and all the love and support they have been showing us. We cannot thank them enough for all that they do for us. We feel so blessed:)

Summer..finally!

Well I take my last final tomorrow then I get a little 7 week break from school. I can't wait!
I'm really hoping the break goes by slowly because like I said before I am defiantly
not looking forward to fall semester:(

During the break I will be doing my internship at West Jefferson Family Health in Mud Lake.
I am so excited because I'll be working for Jakes cousin who owns the clinic and is a Physician Assistant.
I thought it would be such a great shadowing experience to do my internship under a PA because one day I hope to make it to PA school:)

We have so many receptions and baby showers coming up I can't wait to attend! We actually went to the most beautiful reception last evening for our friends Ali and Brenan. It was so good to see so many friends there to celebrate the happy couple!

With my "free time" I hope to get a few projects done that I've been putting off. One of which is a glider and ottoman we bought. I want to refinish the chair and the cushions for a future nursery...stay tuned for pictures:)
Some other projects that Jake has been busy doing is our new
beautifully refinished coffee table we bought from a thrift store for $15! Crazy huh!!
Jake refinished it white with a black glaze and it turned out so gorgeous!
I just love the cute vintage style it has...
Another project is our temple picture...
I bought this picture of the Idaho Falls Temple back before Christmas from my cousin Alyssa.
Jake just got around to making the frame for it. Once again he did a wonderful job and I couldn't be happier! Its even personalized in the corner and it says "Anderson 11.11.11"
Love it and now our mantle is complete!

Jake and I will be going to Utah next weekend to visit my family and Austin will be going through the temple for the first time! We are so excited and proud!! We all got him a gift for his mission...a nice camera, a shirt, tie, journal and some pens. He is going to be the cutest and best missionary!
We will also be taking some bridal/groomal pictures at the capital for a friend of mine that is building her portfolio. I can't wait to put my dress back on and take more pictures with my handsome hubby! I decided I was going to make a bouquet that had some of our grandparents brooches in it and one of mine that I wore on my luncheon dress the day of my wedding. It will be such a beautiful centerpiece and a nice remembrance of our wonderful grandparents:) I made a few fabric and burlap flowers and burned almost all 10 of my fingers! I think it turned out great and I can't wait to post pictures of our session:)

Lastly I have been able to spend more time doing fun things for my Sunday School class. I saw this cute thing on pinterest, went out and bought kit kats and put them together. July's theme is about ordinances and covenants and I truly felt my testimony grow as I remembered my baptism which was 8 years ago and when I took out my endowments 2 years ago. I'm so grateful to have the gospel in my life and I know with the Savior all things are possible! I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday:)

Catching up

okay so I know I'm horrible about blogging, but with the semester coming to an end I hope to update a little bit more.

I have about a week left of the semester left and I can't wait to have a little break! 18 credits has been rough but not as bad as I imagined! Next semester will be another story...I'm taking Chem 105 and I'm wayyy nervous! This is my class schedule for Fall...
Jake is all registered for fall classes as well so we both will be busy little bees with work and school. I can't wait till I can graduate! Hopefully just one more year with the PA pre-reqs:)

We went to Utah back in June for my cousins high school graduation and his mission call. Elder Austin King has been called to serve in the Las Vegas, Nevada West Mission. He reports to the MTC in Provo on September 11th. Words can't explain how proud I am of him. He has been through so much in his life and has always been such a smart and great kid! He will be a wonderful missionary and I will miss him like crazy! Our sweet great grandma was able to come over to see Austin open his call and it was so special to have most of our family and his friends there to share the experience with.

I also threw Austin a graduation party! Everyone deserves a party:) I set up a picture/gift table and made a bunch of little graduation cap's out of resses candy, and a candy poem thing:) My mom got almost all of the food and the cake and we both got decorations to put up around the house. I was told I went a little overboard but its ok:)

For Mothers day my mom and robert were able to come up to Idaho for the weekend and hang out with us. It was so nice to have them visit and that weekend my brother-in-law was reporting in church. Travis got home from serving in Uganda, Africa two months ago and we've loved having him home! We have gotten to spend a lot of time with him and I'm so lucky to have such an awesome brother. I made him a sweet cake for his homecoming, and I also made cupcake bouquets for both of my mothers:)

Travis also brought us back some awesome gifts from Uganda. My favorite is a hand carved wooden palque with our names on it. We also got a scripture case made out of zebra hide, a hand carved nativity set and authentic African jewelry made out of paper! We also sold this beautiful jewelry and purses at the booth we had set up on the 4th of July! Travis gave me a purse for helping him:) I love it!

Independence day in Menan is probably one of my favorite holidays. This year was my second year in Menan and I started it off by running the 5k race with some friends from work and my dog, ruger. He was a little tired that morning! He's the best running buddy:) We watched my brother play some softball, worked at our jewelry booth, watched the parade, ate some fatty food, went to a fun BBQ with friends and ended by watching the fireworks together in our front lawn. I had the best day with my husband!! We got to hang out all day which is rare now, and we got a little sun! Here are a few pictures from our 4th of July...

The Saturday after the 4th of July i ran the color in motion 5k run in Rexburg with my best friend Courtney and all my other work friends. We had a blast!! They are such fun friends and I'm so glad they are in my life. After the run we went to the lake for a few hours and then all of us went to buffalo wild wings for yummy wings and to watch the UFC fights.

Last but not least is Jakes new bike. He got a 2008 kawasaki 450. He loves that thing! He got it to ride with his brother and his friends. i'm a little nervous but he promised he would be safe. Also I am going blind which is way sad:( I think I need glasses and I'm constantly stealing Jake's glasses to read anything now.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday with your loved ones! We are off to Andy Furrows homecoming. Can't wait to hear him speak and spend time with my second family that I love and adore:)
